Relations between Beijing and Moscow are now at ‘their best in history’, according to a press release issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China (PRC) last year.

This year marks the second half of the ‘China-Russia Year of Culture’ – a series of cultural exchanges taking place over two years to mark the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Beijing and Moscow, which was celebrated last year. Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), attended the inaugural concert, which marked the first of many cultural events defining the initiative, along with Vladimir Putin, President of Russia.
