I once again found out about a ministerial meeting between London and Beijing from Chinese sources – just like when Wang Yi, Foreign Minister of the People’s Republic of China (PRC), visited the United Kingdom (UK), the recent meeting between Wang and Jonathan Powell, National Security Adviser, has only been announced in domestic PRC news.
Powell met Wang in Beijing on 14th July, in the same period that David Lammy, Foreign Secretary, attended the regional security forum of Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) in Malaysia to discuss the UK-Malaysia strategic partnership.
